South Asia

A land of diversity, India is home to over 750 different languages.  This South Asian country of over 1.2 billion people is as diverse in belief as they are in language.  Birthing Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism, 4 of the worlds major religions, India has been a source and origin for cosmologic thought around the globe.  Sadly, this monument of religious holy ground is overshadowed by its disparaging poverty.  33% of the population lives under $1.25 a day.  If you broke that income into an hourly wage, it would equate to $0.16.  This disparagement does not only infiltrate wages, but it also affects literacy.  Only 75% of men are literate in India, with even less women having the ability to read and write (50%).

What can we do then, you may ask.  Is not the task too great for us to affect any change?  No.  Some of the great change has been affected by single individuals.  This is our hope and prayer:  that we, though individuals, can affect great change in the lives of Indians through Christ in us.  This will be accomplished in multiple ways.

Pray over & encouraged persecuted Christians in their homes

Your team will travel to the homes of believers over your time in country to pray for them. This is such an amazing opportunity to be a part of the global church and to encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ, as many of them are weary from persecution of their faith.

Share the Gospel through the Christmas story

Your team will work to put on a Christmas Service that will be open to the public and have the opportunity to pray that the message shared reaches ears beyond the church walls!

Build relationships with local Bible college students

During your time in India, you will also meet students from the Bible College. You will be able to share your stories with them, hear about their lives and their hearts for the lost of the country, and spend time encouraging and praying over them.

Help us be the change and encouragement these people need.  GO with Multiply Global to the lost, the hungry, the broken, in India.
